Health technology · Software · AI

Clinical knowledge, software development and applied AI.

I work primarily as a Senior Lecturer in Radiography, teaching technical and clinical subjects including AI, imaging optimisation, radiation protection and MRI diagnostics. My wider work combines healthcare, software engineering, clinical biomechanics and applied AI.

About

Several fields, one practical focus.

I work primarily as a Senior Lecturer in Radiography at UCL University College Denmark. I teach AI, imaging optimisation, radiation protection and MRI diagnostics, and I contribute to technology coordination, health-data research and the practical introduction of AI in education and healthcare.

I have university degrees in Software Construction and Clinical Biomechanics. I also hold Danish clinical authorisation with permission for independent practice and was positively assessed as a Danish lektor in 2020.

I am currently completing an MSc in AI, Technology and Sustainability, which includes Le Wagon's Data Science and AI Bootcamp.

“I am interested in technology that can improve quality of life, but only when safety, privacy, evidence and wider consequences are considered from the start.”

Core areas

The three parts of my work.

Most of my projects sit somewhere between these areas rather than inside only one of them.

01

Software Engineering

Software construction, system design, databases, algorithms and data workflows, grounded in formal university training.

02

Clinical & Imaging Sciences

Musculoskeletal diagnosis, biomedical sciences, diagnostic imaging, radiography, MRI and radiation protection.

03

Applied AI

Machine learning, computer vision, health data, deployment, AI ethics, GDPR and human oversight.

Experience

Teaching, clinical work, technology and research.

2016 to present

Senior Lecturer in Radiography and Technology Coordinator, AI and XR

UCL University College Denmark

  • Formally externally assessed as a Danish lektor in 2020.
  • Teaches AI literacy, generative AI, medical imaging optimisation, radiation protection and MRI diagnostics.
  • Contributes to institutional AI adoption, policy and practical implementation.
  • Coordinates XR activities and technology-supported learning across health-professional settings.
  • Contributes to epidemiological research using occupational radiation-exposure data.

Clinical background

State-authorised musculoskeletal clinician

Danish chiropractor, cand.manu., with completed postgraduate internship and permission for independent clinical practice.

  • Experience from private clinical practice and hospital-based settings.
  • University training in biomedical sciences, musculoskeletal diagnosis, differential diagnosis, pathology, rehabilitation and diagnostic imaging.
  • Independent clinical responsibility within the Danish regulatory framework.

Education and qualifications

Formal training in software, clinical science and AI.

Expected 2027

SIRT: Safety in Imaging and Radiation Treatment

I contribute as a researcher to this project on occupational ionising-radiation exposure and long-term health outcomes. Karen Brage is the principal researcher (PI) and Pernille Lund Hansen is CoPI. A central part of the work is the shared development of researchable register data based on occupational exposure records held by the Danish Health Authority’s Radiation Protection unit, alongside collaboration with Danish and international research partners.

Projects

Learning by building.

My independent projects are where I test ideas from computer vision, health data, edge AI and human-computer interaction.

Longitudinal Health Data Platform

A non-diagnostic prototype exploring how images, measurements and wearable data can be organised and interpreted over time.
